PHOTO CAP: Assemblyman Mike Lawler is joined by Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater and concerned citizens at a news conference outside the recently burglarized Yorktown “Rexall” Pharmacy in Yorktown Heights on Thursday, July 7. Mr. Lawler, who is running for Congress in New York's 17th District, called for common-sense criminal justice reforms, including the elimination of no-cash-bail in New York. 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Assemblyman Lawler and Supervisor Slater, a candidate for New York State Assembly, also called for passage of legislation being introduced by Mr. Lawler in Albany that would create a 2 percent cap on state spending increases in New York State. Both officials stressed that the skyrocketing cost of living and increasing crime rates are making living in New York untenable for many.

IN AN EFFORT TO LOWER THE COST-OF-LIVING IN NEW YORK STATE MOVING FORWARD, ASSEMBLYMAN MIKE LAWLER, YORKTOWN TOWN SUPERVISOR MATTHEW SLATER, AND OTHER LOCAL OFFICIALS WILL CALL FOR PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION IN ALBANY THAT WOULD CAP FUTURE STATE SPENDING INCREASES AT TWO PERCENT ANNUALLY, AT A NEWS CONFERENCE ON THURSDAY, JULY 7 AT 12 NOON OUTSIDE REXALL'S PHARMACY AT 1905 COMMERCE STREET IN YORKTOWN HEIGHTS.
