Mr. Lawler, who is running for Congress in New York's 17th District, called for common-sense criminal justice reforms, including the elimination of no-cash-bail in New York. 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Assemblyman Lawler and Supervisor Slater, a candidate for New York State Assembly, also called for passage of legislation being introduced by Mr. Lawler in Albany that would create a 2 percent cap on state spending increases in New York State. Both officials stressed that the skyrocketing cost of living and increasing crime rates are making living in New York untenable for many.
